Tea Boxes

Just some quick pics of some tea boxes my mom asked me to make for gifts for my Grandma and great aunt. These were plain cigar box style boxes from Michaels. The paper is from DCWV the flowers are a combination of Prima and i am roses. The outside was painted with Tim Holtz Crackle paint in vintage photo.

The divider inside is removable and topped with Maya Road trim.

The second one is painted with Tm Holtz Picket Fences Crackle Paint and inked with Broken China ink.

Boss' Day Gift

Boss' Day is October 16th and I thought I would create a one of a kind gift for my boss that she could use. I work for Girl Scouts and we are always sending out thank you cards and personalized notes to our volunteers and community partners. I picked up this plain recipe box from Michaels and decorated it with the Girl Scout K & Co paper along with some i am roses, bling and a flower made from an old dictionary and glimmer misted.

Inside, I created 8 simple cards made with the same paper.

Here is the back. It says "I make a difference"
Once the cards are gone, she can always use it to store a secret stash of cookies :)

Steampunk Debutante Cigar Box Part 2

So my husband showed my Steampunk Debutante box from last weeks post to one of his cigar smoking buddies. The next day, what did I find in my livingroom? Check it out! Piles and piles of cigar boxes. I hope he didn't smoke all of these cigars himself!

Steampunk Debutante Cigar Box

I must be the only wife in the world who encourages her husband to smoke cigars. The nostalgic boxes they come in are so inspiring. I needed a little catch all box to put some if my items I keep down stairs such as glasses, lip gloss, nail file, lotion, etc. So I used the Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante paper to re-purpose this box.

Prima flowers, Tim Holtz key and foundations

Tea Box

I created this gift box for my mom's birthday. It is a wooden cigar box that was purchased at Michaels. I covered it with K&Co paper which came from a value pack and painted the outside with Tim Holtz Crackle Paint in Peeled Paint. The flowers are all from iamroses.com. On the inside, I used a piece of chipboard trimmed with Maya Road Trim as a divider and adhered it with glue dots to make it sturdy, but removable so that once the tea is gone, she can remove the divider and use it for something else. The butterfly image on the inside lid was purchased from Petitepaperie on etsy. I just love her digital images and she emailed it to me super quick! The tea inside is from Teaman on etsy who makes the most fantastic (and reasonably priced) hand blended tea. I love to support small businesses and do so whenever I can.

Steampunk Debutante Card

I can never get enough Graphic 45, I love the Steampunk Debutante paper so much I have been hoarding it, not wanting to cut into it. I don't know why I do that sometimes...I decided to finally start small and cut into two pieces with this little card. It's just a simple one, but it definately got me motivated... Hey I can always buy more, right?

Mother's Day Present

It's late, but I thought I would share a Mother's Day gift, I made for my mom this year. The picture inside is my grandparents' wedding photo that I printed on ivory canvas and framed with what was once a stark white frame from Craft Warehouse. I painted a patina green (Eco Green Crafts...LOVE this paint!) to match the Bo Bunny paper (I can't remember the line, but it was from the Christmas collection) and covered the green with Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint. The lace was glimmer misted to match the peach i am roses flower and the butterfly is from Blue Moon's Lost and Found collection. I alcohol inked it with copper mixative so it matched the copper brads and metal photo corners. I did the same with the key and locket charms.
